"This exhibition centers on the quiet strength it takes to keep reaching for the other"
“Over the past year, I have been working at large on the intricacies of the twosome.
As human beings, we are hardwired for connection—yet what are the odds of two melodies playing in perfect unison without slipping into disharmony?
This tension is as old as time. Take Adam and Eve, who often find their way onto my canvases. At the first glimpse of adversity (they had both eaten from the forbidden fruit), they turned on each other like kindergartners. "Eve made me do it!" Adam infamously exclaimed.
Say what you will about evolution, but the twosome remains a continuous dance—between connection and disconnection, between turning away and coming back face to face.
I have selected these works, created over the past year, because even though we are no better than our forebears, this exhibition centers on the quiet strength it takes to keep reaching for the other.”
