Our first artist in Residence, Ousmane Bâ.
MAĀT opened its residency in June 2023, with the aim of supporting and promoting international artists. Located in the heart of Paris, in the iconic artistic area Le Marais, it offers one-month residencies and exhibition opportunities.
MAĀT residency is both a physical and conceptual space that provides artists with materials and practical support. It aims to be a space for artists to connect, exchange, and create.
Le Marais is the Parisian district for contemporary art. It is home to internationally renowned galleries, including Thaddaeus Ropac and Galerie Perrotin, as well as major museums such as the Centre Pompidou and the Maison Européenne de la Photographie.
The Marais is also known for its restaurants and Street Food spots - Le Marché des Enfants Rouges is Paris's oldest covered market (more than 400 years!) and is located just in front of the residency - coffee shops, bars, bookshops, boutiques and beautiful gardens.
